Background

Slider finishing involves grinding the bottom face, mounting face, side face, and V-groove—each directly impacting assembly accuracy and service life. The challenges are real: • Tight flatness & parallelism: parallelism between mounting faces and flatness between the bottom face and rail contact surface are critical. • Demanding surface finish: roughness directly affects friction coefficient and motion smoothness. • High batch consistency: sliders are standardized mass-production parts, so size consistency from batch to batch is essential. • Thin-wall distortion: many slider designs are thin-walled, making heat and clamping deformation hard to control. The MK1040's rigid bed, precision spindle, and stable table motion make it an ideal solution for slider surface grinding.

Solution

A horizontal-spindle reciprocating-table layout. The wheel spindle is horizontal; the table traverses longitudinally—perfect for slider bottom, mounting, side, and V-groove surfaces. Vertical and cross feeds are servo-controlled, enabling auto-grinding, auto-dressing, and automatic rough/finish transitions.

Scenarios

  • Slider mounting-face grinding: deliver both flatness and roughness targets
  • Slider V-groove forming grinding: profile wheel shapes the angle in one pass
  • Slider side-face (datum) grinding: side-load on bottom datum, then grind side to ensure perpendicularity

Advantages

  • Rigid structure: HT250 cast-iron bed, double-aged; double-V bedways plus a flat-and-V saddle interface
  • Micron-level accuracy: 0.001 mm minimum feed; guideways ground on a gantry grinder to keep parallelism and straightness under 0.01 mm
  • Flexible operation: manual loading with selectable manual / semi-auto / auto modes—ideal for small-to-medium batches and frequent spec changes
  • Thermal stability: built-in coolant channels + magnetic separator filtration suppress heat distortion
  • Linear-guide column: spindle on a linear-guide carriage, vertical feed is responsive and stable
  • Syntec CNC + 10″ touch HMI: friendly UI and rich feature set

Why MK1040

The MK1040 is a CNC surface grinder built for slider precision work. Its HT250 cast-iron bed is double-aged and finish-scraped, with guideways ground on a gantry grinder for long-term stability. The vertical column rides on linear guides, the Syntec CNC + 10″ touch HMI is friendly to operators, and semi-enclosed guarding keeps the floor clean.

Ideal for

  • Slider production lines running flat-grinding batches
  • Job shops handling small-to-medium batches with frequent spec changes
  • Shops replacing hand-operated surface grinders to step up automation
