Background

Sliders are the heart of any linear guideway system. The internal channel (raceway) directly governs fit precision, load capacity, and service life. It's a concave formed surface with extreme demands on profile accuracy, surface quality, and batch consistency: • Internal-channel forming is difficult: it's a concave curve that must be ground in one pass with a profile wheel—wheel profile retention and dressing frequency are the make-or-break factors. • Tight fixturing accuracy: sliders locate on the bottom and side datums; magnetic chuck must preserve channel-to-datum position under controlled deformation. • Surface finish & chatter: internal-channel roughness affects friction and noise; high-speed grinding tends to chatter, demanding spindle rigidity and damping. • Batch consistency: sliders are mass-produced, so channel profile must be uniform across batches—puts pressure on feed accuracy and thermal stability.

Solution

The HKM2080 is purpose-built for slider internal-channel forming grinding. A Taiwan-made high-frequency electric spindle drives the profile wheel, paired with a Syntec CNC and full closed-loop Fagor scales for high-precision, high-efficiency forming. Horizontal-spindle forming-plunge grinding: the wheel spindle is horizontal and the profile wheel directly traces the concave channel. The workpiece locates on the bottom and side datums, held by a magnetic chuck on the table; the table traverses longitudinally; the wheel feeds vertically. One clamping, one forming pass—perfect for high-precision batch production of slider internal channels.

Scenarios

  • Slider internal-channel forming precision grinding: locate on bottom and side datums, magnetic chuck fixation
  • Longitudinal table traverse + vertical wheel feed for plunge grinding of the channel
  • Rough pass quickly removes stock; finish pass locks in profile and surface quality
  • Dedicated dresser restores wheel profile; cycle time efficient for continuous batch runs

Advantages

  • Dedicated forming solution: purpose-built for slider channels; profile wheel forms in one pass, locking profile and channel-to-datum position accuracy
  • High-speed rigid spindle: Taiwan high-frequency electric spindle, up to 60,000 rpm (42,000 rpm option)—compact, low-vibration, low-noise, suppresses chatter
  • Micron-level feed accuracy: Fagor full closed-loop scales + PMI/HIWIN precision screws/guides; minimum feed 0.001 mm
  • Smart stage control: Syntec CNC; programmable rough → finish with independently adjustable feed rates
  • Excellent thermal stability: high-strength cast-iron bed + hand-scraped contact + water-cooled A/C for long-term accuracy
  • Fast, easy fixturing: datum-located magnetic chuck—quick load/unload for batch production

Why HKM2080

The HKM2080 is Hairun’s dedicated slider internal-channel grinder. A Taiwan-made high-frequency electric spindle reaches up to 60,000 rpm, keeping vibration and noise low—crucial for suppressing chatter in high-speed grinding. Horizontal-spindle forming-plunge grinding means one clamping, one forming pass, batch-friendly.

Ideal for

  • Slider plants running batch forming-grinding on internal channels
  • Shops chasing 0.001 mm feed precision and high surface quality
  • Operations replacing manual or semi-auto grinders to lift throughput and consistency
